This year, participants in the race will start and end at Energy Square, 4925 Greenville Ave., and take a counterclockwise route, allowing them to travel south down Greenville Avenue, the same direction the parade will travel later in the morning.

The race has started St. Patrick’s Day festivities on Lower Greenville for almost 30 years, according to a news release.

In addition to the course updates, participants will be competing for prizes up to $750. Other competitions include a St. Paddy’s Day Spirit Tutu Contest and donut-eating contests.

Registration is open for the event, which includes timed and untimed races.

Packet pickup and race-day registration starts at 6:30 a.m. March 11. The race begins at 8 a.m., and the awards ceremony is at 8:45 a.m.

The race is a fundraiser for Friends of the Katy Trail and is just one of the activities planned for St. Patrick’s Day in Lower Greenville.

The 2023 Dallas Mavs St. Patrick’s Parade and Festival starts at Blackwell Street at 11 a.m., heads south on Greenville and ends on SMU Boulevard around 2 p.m. CW33’s live broadcast of the parade will be based at 5757 Greenville, between Southwestern Boulevard and Lovers Lane.

The block party is scheduled for 9 a.m.-5 p.m. March 11 on Greenville Avenue between Vanderbilt and Vickery, though bars will stay open until 2 a.m. after the party.

Participating restaurants and bars include Blue Goose, Dodie’s Reef, Dubliner, Stan’s Blue Note, Terilli’s, Halcyon, Christies Sports Bar and Sister.

No coolers, backpacks, large purses or containers are allowed at the block party. A free shuttle service will be running 11 a.m.-3 p.m. from Mockingbird Station.
