Neighbors were greeted with long lines Tuesday morning at neighborhood polling places on the first day of early voting.

All registered voters are eligible to vote at any open location in the county. Early voting locations in the East Dallas area are Harry Stone Recreation Center, 2403 Millmar Drive; Samuell Grand Recreation Center, 6200 E. Grand Ave.; and Lochwood Library, 11221 Lochwood Blvd.

Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday. Early voting ends Oct. 30 and Election Day is Nov. 3.

Poll workers are required to wear masks, and voters are strongly urged to do so. For additional safety, election officials suggest bringing your own pen and hand sanitizer.
