Casa Linda neighbors will soon be able to eat their fill of Thai and Laotian food without driving to Greenville Avenue when Zaap Kitchen Lao & Thai Street Eats opens a second location in the neighborhood.

Owner Tony Singharaj told CultureMap that he hopes to open the second location at the Casa Linda Plaza by the end of the year.

Construction is underway on the space, which will open in the northeast corner near Petco, said a spokesperson for Edens, which owns the plaza.

Zaap originally opened at 6107 Greenville Ave. in 2018 and served Laotian cuisine alongside Thai street food.

The dishes at Zaap are made to order in a fast-casual atmosphere. But be prepared, the food packs a higher level of spice than at other Asian restaurants, CultureMap reported. Menu items include Lao sausage, beef jerky and pork shoulder bits that can be served with pineapple fried rice that incorporates raisins, carrots and cashews.
