Last fall, Woodrow’s Dance Company put on a production of “The Nutcracker” that helped send 12 dancers to the National High School Dance Festival at Point Park University in Pittsburg, Penn. They extend their deepest gratitude for the neighborhood’s support, which helped make the trip affordable.

The festival provided the dancers numerous opportunities to learn, be recruited and continue their dance careers. The dancers attended four days of classes, lectures and a college fair at the competition. Six of the dancers auditioned for 50 colleges across the U.S., England and Canada, receiving 48 recruitment offers. This included acceptance into dance programs, fee waivers, tuition assistance and scholarships to summer dance intensives.

Next fall, the dancers will perform again with the hopes of sending another group to the National High School Dance Festival.
