The White Rock Lake Dog Park is closing soon for maintenance and improvements.
It will be closed July 10-Aug. 1 while Dallas Park and Recreation crews can install new play surfaces and amenities.
District 9 Park Board member Maria Hasbany has previously said that bark mulch will be added to an area in the center of the dog park, where turf often deteriorates.
The hope for the mulch is that it will reduce the need for maintenance and shorten the length of park closures after bad weather.
Crews are also adding play equipment for the pets.
