Furthering its original mission to “respect, preserve and maintain” the blackland prairies located on the east side of White Rock Lake, members of the White Rock East Coalition of Area Neighborhoods — which consists of the Lochwood, Peninsula, and Old Lake Highlands neighborhood associations (some 4,000 households) — have organized an information meeting in partnership with the Native Prairies Association of Texas.

From 6-7:30 p.m. on July 16 at the Bath House Cultural Center, Native Prairies Association of Texas executive director Pat Merkord will discuss local conservation efforts and how the formation of a local chapter can help preserve area blackland prairies, namely, Boy Scout Hill. All members of the general public are welcome.
