If you’re like me, as the holiday season comes to an end, you’re left with countless boxes from last-minute online gift shopping, piles of used wrapping paper and a withering Christmas tree still standing in the living room.

We’re all guilty of procrastination this time around; thankfully, Dallas makes it a bit easier to dispose of those Christmas trees and decorations.

Here are some options provided by the city of Dallas:

Tree recycling in Dallas:

The Northwest (Bachman) Transfer Station and McCommas Bluff Landfill will be accepting trees for recycling now through Saturday, Feb. 3.

For trees to be successfully mulched, all trees recycled must be real, not flocked, and must not contain decorations such as tinsel and lights. Mulch from the trees will be used and distributed to the city’s property landscaping projects.

And don’t fret; the city is expecting to receive large amounts of recycled trees, as over 7,500 pounds of trees were collected and recycled last year.

Other brushes and bulky items:

Dallas residents can leave up to 10 cubic yards of Christmas tree brush by their curbs for Brush and Bulk Item Collection no later than 7 a.m. the Monday of pickup week.

Service requests can be filled out online and trees must be moved to the curb before 7:00 a.m. to ensure pickup. Those interested can fill out a service request online to ensure pickup.
