“Hello neighbors, it pains me to say that my family’s restaurant, Mixtitos, is on the verge of closing. Having a restaurant has been my father’s dream for as long as I remember and it crushes me when I see my dad patiently waiting at the host stand for patrons,” one of the family members posted on Facebook. “I feel like I’ve taken for granted this establishment, so I am trying my best to help my family’s dream come true. This has taken a toll on our family, and we would love to have y’all come stop by.”

The Old East Dallas restaurant, located at 2706 Samuell Blvd. in the former La Acapulqueña, opened in the summer of 2022 specializing in Japanese, French and Mexican cuisines, a year later the establishment made Yelp’s ‘Top 100 Places to Eat in Texas’.

Last week the company posted on Facebook that the family’s dream of opening a restaurant was at risk of coming to an end.

“You can be our hero by supporting our small business,” the team posted to their website.
