  • You definitely don’t want to miss the Junius Heights Home Tour on Nov. 3. Join the historic Junius Heights neighborhood for its seventh annual Home Tour and Arts & Craft Fair from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. This year’s tour features several homes from the Junius Heights neighborhood. Advance tickets can be purchased at Lakewood Whole Foods through Nov. 2. The event is in Junius Heights, start at 711 Dumont. Visit juniusheights.org for more information. The event is $10 in advance, $15 at the door.
  • Starting Sunday, Nov. 3 and running through Dec. 15, St. Matthew’s Cathedral Arts is hosting the Dallas Love Project, which will involve 50,000 artists and display 10,000 works focused on unconditional love, gathered from various exhibits around Dallas. Each and every work of art was painstakingly brought to life by the hand of a Dallas neighbor. The event is at St. Matthew’s Cathedral Arts center, Justus Sundermann Gallery, located at 5100 Ross. Call 214.887.6552 to schedule a visit. No cost.
  • Here’s an event that’s out of our neighborhood, but it’s put on by an East Dallas neighbor: Rock-a-Bully 3, an event to support the bully dog breeds, is on Nov. 3 from 1-7 p.m at Sue Ellen’s on Oak Lawn. So if you can find it in your heart to cross the great divide in order to help a neighbor and a puppy, you’ll find Shorty Rossi, star of the Animal Planet reality TV series “Pit Boss,” is visiting Dallas as part of the fundraiser. The one-day event, which will include vendors, live bands, beautiful Pinups for Pitbulls, prizes and even a kiss-a-bull kissing booth. A $10 suggested donation. This event raises money for two local rescue groups — Animal Rescue of Texas and DFW Rescue Me — which advocate for pit bull type dogs and welcome them into their programs.
  • And of course, Autumn at the Arboretum continues through Nov.27.  The Dallas Arboretum uses more than 50,000 pumpkins, gourds and squash every year to form its nationally acclaimed storybook pumpkin village, on display through Nov. 27. Dallas Arboretum, 8525 Garland, 214.515.6500, $10-$15, plus $10 for onsite parking and $5 for offsite parking.
  • If you’re looking for something to do today while you’re waiting to take the munchkins out for trick-or-treating, go by the Green Grocer at 3614 Greenville Ave between 3-5 p.m. for face painting, pumpkin painting and organic treats/samples. Face painting and pumpkin painting cost $10 each, with 100% of those proceeds going to support Stonewall Gardens. Also, did you know that if you mention you are a part of the Stonewall Jackson family, you get 10 percent off your purchases every day at the Green Grocer?
