Guess what tomorrow is. It’s the happiest day of the year. That is, according to mathematician/accountant Cliff Arnall, who used the formula (O (N xS) Cpm/T He) to determine both the happiest and unhappiest days of 2012 by calculating daylight, temperature (he obviously ain’t local), “childhood positive memories”, nature, socialization and “holiday expected.”
Good news — we’ve already made it through the supposed unhappiest day, which was in January.
Sure, this is probably time that Mr. Arnall could have better spent doing someone’s taxes or something, but two local residents have used it as a jumping-off point for a creative extravaganza they call Dallas Solstice.
Life-size spin art, stilt walkers, samba dancers … intrigued yet? These are but a few of the things you can expect at tomorrow’s party, which takes place at Life in Deep Ellum, 2803 Taylor Street from 7-9 p.m. More details can be found here on the Dallas Solstice website.
This is a kickoff event for Dallas Solstice, founded by Lake Highlands resident Dawn Quiett and Lakewood resident Thisbe Grace McWilliams.
Future events will include a winter solstice masquerade ball, sun salutations for solstice yoga, a glitter-and-glow party, and art events galore, the founders say.
