The Lakewood Library will serve as a temporary Dallas Department of Sustainability and Construction office to help residents, contractors and roofers get permits to repair hail damage from last week’s storm. For damage/repair exceeding $500, one needs a permit.
Staffers will be available to answer questions, especially for owners of homes in historic or conservation districts (such as Swiss Ave.), because those repairs can get tricky due to residential zoning restrictions.
The library is at 6121 Worth Street and is opened until 4:30 p.m.today, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, from 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, and from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday.
