Travel back in time to the 1970s at the Wah Wah Room, the latest drinking destination to open with good vibes on Lower Greenville.
The bar opened its doors May 16 in the space that was formerly Ceviche, 1922 Greenville Ave. It’s right next to Laurel Tavern, the California eatery that opened in late 2018. The two restaurants share owners, a patio and a kitchen. But that’s where the similarities end.
The Wah Wah Room, named after the electric modifier pedal, is designed like a 1970s recording studio. Low couches topped with jewel-toned pillows can be found in a lounge decorated with neon lights and pictures of music icons. Shelves are topped with records, cassette tapes and even a few lava lamps, Eater reported.
Staying true to its name, drinks like “Good Vibrations,” “The Rat Pack” and “Fire It Up” are served in pink flamingo cups.
The Wah Wah Room is open from 7 p.m. to midnight Thursday through Sunday.
