A Baylor University Medical Center officer fired his weapon Friday morning at a person accused of ramming a vehicle into police.

Hospital officers arrived at 3200 Junius St. at 7:30 a.m. in response to a call about an individual slumped over in a vehicle reported stolen, according to a Dallas Police Department news release.

When officers approached, the driver quickly reversed and hit them. An officer fired his weapon at the vehicle before it drove away, according to the release.

Authorities said they found the individual uninjured in an apartment complex a short time later.

Injuries to the Baylor officers were not considered life threatening, the Dallas Morning News reported.
