Neighbors can register for the COVID-19 vaccine Saturday at Casa View Christian Church.
The drive-thru registration event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church, 2230 Barnes Bridge Road. Registration assistance will be provided in Spanish and English.
The event was originally scheduled for Feb. 20 but was postponed because of winter weather.
East Dallas Greater Good is organizing the event. The community group mobilized last year to oppose a concrete batch plant and has since turned its focus to vaccine education and registration outreach.
The organization’s first registration event on Feb. 6 registered nearly 200 community members, with more than 75 percent living in underserved ZIP codes.
Dallas County and the Federal Emergency Management Agency have partnered to prioritize vaccinating residents in 17 historically hard-to-reach ZIP codes, including 75228.
