Utopia Food & Fitness will soon be bringing healthy meals and workouts to Lakewood Village on the southeast corner of Mockingbird and Abrams.
Utopia provides carefully planned meals to control portions, complementing the nutrition with onsite workout facilities and detailed workout plans that can be performed with the guidance of trainers if desired. Meals are designed by executive chef Mike Smith, a James Beard Award nominee who was previously at District 30 Craft Bar & Kitchen and TABC.
Utopia prepares meals based on each client’s goals and measurements, with specific portions and calories to help patrons lose weight and gain muscle. The meals can be purchased a la carte without a plan, or can be part of a packages that include a workout plan. There are a variety of options, but a six-week prepaid food costs $31.50 per day for food and $129 worth of dues per month, which includes a $50 food credit.
Utopia’s model requires just two 20-minute circuit workouts where clients work until muscle exhaustion. Clients are given time to recover between workouts, and eat all of their meals based on the plan. Counting calories, logging data on apps and cooking are avoided if the program is followed. Up to three days worth of meals can be picked up at one time.
Meals can be retrieved seven days a week, and the Lakewood facility will be open Monday through Thursday from 5:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.; Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The Lakewood location will be DFW’s fifth Utopia Food & Fitness, which began in 2013. “We look forward to helping more people achieve their fitness goals across the Metroplex,” says founder Kirk Wilder via media release.
Utopia will take the space of Little Lakewood Salon and Playhouse at 6434 E. Mockingbird Lane suite #105, and hope to be open in October.
