The main event will be when brew boss Dennis Wehrmann taps a 200-year-old keg that belonged to his great-great-grandfather, who began a family brewery in Germany in 1800. The keg will be filled with Truck Yard’s Trucktoberfest beer, which is brewed for the event. It’s brewed with German malt, hops and a Munich lager yeast.

But there are plenty of other activities going on, geared toward those neighbors with a strong competitive spirit. There will be a stein-holding contest and a wiener dog race. Have a great singing voice? Take part in the yodeling contest. Have an impressive appetite? Take part in the pretzel-eating contest.

The contests, held Sept. 18-19, are free to enter. Sign up for a spot here.

Truck Yard was named one of the best places for day drinking in 2015.
