The old Trinity Lutheran Church at Gaston and Loving is on a pretty, hilltop lot with old trees. But the building is shot, and so far, no plans for the lot have panned out. After the church closed about three years ago, Javelin Capital Partners bought it with plans of building a nursing home there. Neighbors opposed a rezoning request, and Javelin recently broke ground on the nursing home on a site north of White Rock Lake.

"The most likely thing is that it’ll be torn down and something else will be built there," said Alan Naul of Javelin. "The building is in pretty bad shape."
