“We are looking for inspiring images of trees taken inside the city limits of Dallas. These photographs should represent the spirit of Trees Among Us Photo Contest: portraying the connection between trees and people. These images may show a single tree or a variety of trees, but should highlight trees primarily in urban settings, not in forest environments. While humans do not necessarily have to be included in the photograph, it should highlight how trees greatly improve the lives of humans. Images will be judged on originality, technical excellence, composition, overall impact and artistic merit. A photographer is permitted to upload a maximum of two photos total.”

Here are details about how to enter. There are categories for professionals, amateurs and youth.

East Dallas trees took a blow last year when a June storm felled hundreds across the city. Many neighbors showed their love by replanting trees or manning a lemonade stand to raise money for the Re-Leaf Fund.
