Go see it! You will laugh. You will cry. “Torey’s Distraction” is a documentary about Old East Dallas resident Torey Harrah, who was born with Apert Syndrome, a craniofacial abnormality.
Harrah’s neighbor on Munger, part-time filmmaker and full-time casting director Tisha Blood, spent 10 years filming the Harrah family and producing the film.
Since it was released last spring, the film has won several awards at film festivals.
It screens at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at the Angelika as part of the USA Film Festival. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Blood and Torey, plus Torey’s mom, Andrea, and her doctor, Jeffrey Fearon. Tickets are $10.
