On Saturday morning, say goodbye to a tree. There is a big old tree near the Bath House Cultural Center, and an arborist told the city it needs to be cut down because of hollow spots. So Earth Rhythms is having a sending off party for the tree at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 28.

The White Rock Rowing Sprint Championships are from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, May 28.

The CityArts Festival at Fair Park is free, and it’s all weekend, Friday-Sunday, May 27-29. There are music and dance performances, an outdoor screening of Breakfast at Tiffany’s at 9 p.m. Friday, cooking demonstrations from celebrity chefs, art cars, a fireworks show Saturday night and much more. Parking costs $10.

The School of Rock’s Rockstravaganza is from noon-7 p.m. Sunday, May 29. About 40 of the school’s bands will take the stages at Deep Ellum clubs throughout the day. And all the profits go to the Woodrow and J.L. Long International Baccalaureate programs.

Central 214 is having a Memorial Day party from 6-9 p.m. Sunday. Order food and drinks, and 50 percent of the proceeds will go to USO Dallas/Fort Worth. At 9 p.m., the “sunset movie” is Ferris Beuller’s Day Off.
