The Children’s Center is having a “drive-in” movie night at 6 p.m. Friday Dec. 10. It’s a double feature — “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” and “A Charlie Brown Christmas”. The movies will be shown on a big outdoor screen, so bring blankets and bundle up. Popcorn and hot chocolate will be served.

The Alex Sanger Elementary School Winter Art Fair is from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11.

The Big Russian Shootout, a three-on-three basketball tournament open to law enforcement and fire fighters, is Saturday at the St. Thomas Aquinas School gym. The charity tournament honors the memory of police officer Norm Smith, who was killed in the line of duty. Team entry fees will be donated to Genesis Women’s Shelter, and spectator admission to the tournament is free.

“Santa Paws” is coming to Hotel Palomar this weekend. Pet owners are invited to bring their four-legged friends from 2-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday for hot chocolate, apple cider and treats.
