The Woodrow homecoming game against Hillcrest starts at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Franklin Stadium. Get there early for hamburgers and hotdogs, which the booster club will be selling starting at 6:15 p.m.

The Munger Place Home Tour is Saturday, Sept. 24, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 the day of the tour. There are lots of good home tours in our neighborhood, but this one is pretty special. It doesn’t come around every year. The last one was in 2008. And the Munger Place Historic District is one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in Dallas. Established in 1905, Munger Place features more than 250 prairie style homes, making it one of the largest collections in the world of that architectural style.

The Shops at Park Lane is celebrating “Parktoberfest” from 4-7 p.m. Saturday: Music, face painting, balloon animals, plus food and beer at Gordon Biersch.
