Construction on Henderson Avenue is attracting some eyeballs, but it’s not necessarily the road construction. The Irish pub, The Skellig, is building a new beer garden expected to open by the end of the summer.
The business, which opened in 2015, announced the project through a Facebook post that said, “Excuse the mess! Stay tuned…” The message and design renderings were featured on a black sign fixed to a nearby fence.
The Dallas Observer reported that the 1,800-square-foot beer garden will include a 600-square-foot bar, wooden community tables and a fire pit. A 25-foot oak tree was also planted in the outdoor space at 2409 N. Henderson Ave.
“We already have a patio,” operations manager Charles Reiss told the Observer. “This is going to feel very different, more casual, than the term patio implies.”
