Regular readers of the magazine’s wine feature know that the $7 Osborne Solaz is one of the world’s great cheap red wines. Well, there is now a white wine to go with it (though it’s $8.99). The Solaz white is dry and crisp, without the citrus of a sauvignon blanc and more in the style of an unoaked chardonnay.
Currently, it’s only available at Central Market (where the wine department went through eight cases the first weekend it was on sale). But I have been assured it should show up at most of the usual retail outlets later this spring.
