Lakewood crime watch is warning neighbors to be on alert for a tattooed white man on a bike — if you see him or any suspicious person, contact 911 with a description and location.
Earlier this week the man might have burglarized a home on the 6700 block of Ellsworth, breaking out a window and removing items from the home despite setting off an alarm. He might also be responsible for the attempted burglary of a home in the 6700 block of Lakewood. Lakewood officers believe a potential suspect is riding his bike into the neighborhood and then exiting back out on his bike with the items in a backpack, according to crime watch chair Nancy Wilson.
“I am asking you, as Lakewood residents, to be aware of suspicious persons in and around Lakewood,” Wilson wrote in an email to the neighborhood. “We have many (cyclists) who exercise and make their way through Lakewood daily. This person of interest is an Anglo with tattoos up and down his arms. He has been spotted on a cruiser bike not a racing/10-speed bike,” she adds.
