Tacos Mariachi opened in a renovated space on Singleton Boulevard in 2015. It received great reviews and was featured on “Diners, Drive Ins and Dives” earlier this year.

Owner Jesús Carmona worked in the kitchen of Café San Miguel on North Henderson Avenue until it closed in 2011. And his career also includes stints at the Rosewood Hotel Group as well as John Tesar’s restaurants Spoon and Knife.

Tacos Mariachi made a splash with unusual menus items such as octopus tacos, as well as more traditional taquería fare, plus some Tex-Mex stuff like queso and frozen margaritas.

Eater Dallas reports that the new Tacos Mariachi is now open in the 2000 block of Greenville Avenue.
