When a Lakewood woman went viral for threatening to call Immigration and Customs Enforcement on Latina taco truck operators, neighbors organized a lighthearted protest with, fittingly, more tacos.

The Dallas chapter of the League of United Latin American Citizens organized Sunday’s protest at the Lakehill Preparatory School parking lot, ABC affiliate WFAA reported. Dozen of neighbors shared tacos and listened to mariachi music.

“It’s embarrassing that it happened in the neighborhood,” neighbor Carol Bell-Walton told the station. “When I saw that they were going to be out, I just wanted to come out and lend my support.”

The protest was a response to a 49-second video that shows neighbor Valerie Jacobs — nicknamed Taco Truck Tammy — saying, “OK baby girl, vamanos. I’ll call ICE.” The video has more than 161,000 views since it was posted April 4.

“It was an unfortunate comment,” Jacobs later told WFAA. “I wish I’d used my words better.”
