Local businesses like East Dallas’ Snowbaby, an eatery that serves creamy shaved ice, have struggled to stay open because of COVID-19. Owner Chrissy Kuo says that the pandemic halted catering jobs and heavily reduced customer traffic in the store.

After following the lead of other restaurants that switched to takeout, pickup and delivery, Kuo decided those methods were not enough for Snowbaby. She made her shop “go mobile” instead, Dallas Culture Map reported. Kuo found a used snow cone trailer on Facebook. After a thorough cleaning and paint job, the Snowbaby-mobile was ready to go.

Think of the Snowbaby-mobile as a mini Snowbaby shop. From the cart, customers can get the most popular seasonal flavors, toppings and drizzles. All flavors are made with fresh ingredients without artificial coloring, high-fructose corn syrups and sweeteners.

While offering an array of shaved ice options, the mobile does not sell its in-store fruit teas or bubble waffles. Seasonal flavors this summer include lemonade, pineapple and key lime, all made with fresh fruit juices.
