Last time we talked to neighborhood crooner Ricki Derek, when his New Year’s Eve show was named one of our holiday favorites in the December Advocate, he was getting ready to open the Scat Jazz Lounge in Fort Worth’s Sundance Square.
The underground club has been open for more than seven months now. Derek and his big band headline once a month, and this Friday, Aug. 29, is their next performance. According to the website, you should either make a reservation or grab a table early if you want to watch the show.
Of course, if you don’t want to drive all the way to Cowtown, you can always catch Derek at The Cavern on Lower Greenville every Sunday night.
