This weekend, the Savor Dallas food and wine event makes its third annual appearance — and at Victory Park, no less. The schedule, as always, is impressive, and this year includes a free screening of one of the quirkiest movies about food ever made, "Babette’s Feast."

Of particular interest are the Saturday seminars, and specifically Doug Frost’s Spanish and South American panel at 11 a.m. The wines to be tasted are very nice, including a sherry from Osborne called Pedro Ximenez, which will change the way you think about sherry. Frost is not only one of the most knowledgeable wine types in the world, but someone who understands that not everyone knows as much as he does. That’s a great combination in this type of seminar.
