Ronald Vaughn, DVM, didn’t think much of it when the Dallas-based promoter of Peticure asked him to appear in a commercial for the product, which trims nails on dogs and cats. He didn’t even ask to be paid.

"I told them that if they could show up at the office, I could give them 15 minutes," says Vaughn, who owns Rutherford Animal Clinic across the street from Fair Park. "We had used, and I liked it, so when they asked if I would do it, I said yes."

What Vaughan wasn’t prepared for was the product’s success and the commercials that ran on various cable channels, including BBC America. If they haven’t made him a star, they have brought a lot of attention his way. "Oh my gosh, it has been the freakiest thing in the world," he says, "the number of people who have seen this thing."

Vaughn is at 40 seconds and about 3 minutes on the video, courtesy of Youtube.
