Miss the hangover-healing power of Sunday brunch at the late Kitchen 1924 in Lakewood shopping center? A new and arguably improved version is returning to the neighborhood. Yep. The new-ish Horne & Dekker, starting Sunday Sept. 12, brings you Hangover Brunch every Sunday from 9 a.m.-noon complete with TVs for football watching. I haven’t been to Horne & Dekker yet, but it features the culinary stylings of Kitchen 1924’s Shawn Horne and Flynn Dekker, formerly of Fogo De Chao. The guys claim to have a sure cure for your overindulgence-induced ailments. “The signature conscience-clearing and hangover curing drink, the Wall of Shame, is a concoction comprising Zwack, ginger beer, mint and a little hair of the dog that bit you.”

Breakfast begins with complimentary breakfast biscuits with honey butter and seasonal jam and entrees range from about $8-$11. According to their web page, Horne and Dekker are “deadly serious” about food, but otherwise pretty laid back — is it just me, or does Horne’s childhood photo look like Tina Yothers from Family Ties in a Boy Scout uniform? Point is: looks like a fun place to recover on a Sunday.
