The name is pretty difficult to spell, the food presentation is a little unorthodox, it doesn’t serve liquor and it’s not a hangout place. But Quesa-D-Ya’s, 2820 Greenville, has great food at a reasonable price for the quantity and quality.

This neighborhood-owned restaurant offers entrees served in a pizza box, and that’s how you determine the size: large ($13.50-$15) serves 3-5, medium ($10.5-$12) serves 2-4 and half ($6.50-$7) serves 1. I bought a couple of larges for our two sons (ages 17 & 15) and me, and one would have been plenty, because we ended up with about one-and-a-quarter left. But that turned out to be fine, because the triangularly pre-sliced pieces are great for school lunches or reheating.

We ordered the chicken "Traditional D-Ya" (alternatives include steak, pork and veggies); the large cost $13.50, which is about the cost of a large pizza. This one had plenty of chicken, black beans, peppers, onions and cheese, and came with thin, crispy chips and a pepper-roasted pico de gallo in a seperate bag/plastic serving canister. The innards were tender and the wrapper/tortilla was mildly crispy, and speaking as someone who doesn’t really care for traditional quesadillas, this one was a

We also ordered the "Smokey Mountain D-Ya", which includes chicken, ham, barbecued rice, ham, carmelized onions and a smokey cheddar blend. I liked this one better; somehow, the ham and smokey cheddar made this Quesa-D-Ya a unique flavor that I can’t describe but am eager to try again.

Another good option is the white cheddar queso. The cheese was thick and perfect for dipping; it was the best queso I’ve ever tasted.

Other offerings include a large burrito, a salad and a "bowl" — all $6.50. Lemonade, coke products and iced tea also are on the menu, all of which is available for pickup or delivery. I ordered mine about 15 minutes before arriving, and it was hot and ready to go when I arrived.

Quesa-D-Ya’s is located next to the Dubliner on Greenville, and there’s a reserved spot off Greenville in front of the restaurant for pickups. Call 214-823-3927 to place an order, or visit the restaurant’s website to check out the menu.
