A QuikTrip convenience store that’s under construction on Garland Road near Winsted is expected to open in the first or second week of August. It’s on the former site of a Speeds Billiards Games. Tulsa-based QuikTrip has 63 stores in the Dallas area and seven more that are under construction, including the one on Garland Road.
The 5,000-square-foot store’s two gas-pump bays will be able to serve between 16 and 20 cars at once, company spokesman Mike Thornbrugh said. And the store will employ between 12 and 15 people.
QuikTrip is a 50-year-old privately held company known for keeping gas prices as low as possible. “We’re always going to be extremely competitive,” Thornbrugh said.
