POPmove

POPmove3It’s almost official. Papers haven’t been signed just yet, but the plans are well underway to move the Promise of Peace community garden from its current location on East Grand (next to The LOT and across the street from Lincoln’s Arboretum Village shopping center), to a new location in Little Forest Hills.

POPmove2If you drive by White Rock United Methodist Church, you’ll notice a mound of mulch in the parking lot across the street. That’s where Elizabeth Dry, the founder of Promise of Peace garden, plans to move the garden in partnership with the church.

In our blog in March, Dry said Promise of Peace was ready for the “next step.” At the time, she said she was talking with a church, but wouldn’t say which one. Looks like it’s WRUMC at 1450 Oldgate.

We’ve got more information about the garden and the move coming up in June’s issue of Advocate magazine. Check it out!
