This Saturday the Promise of Peace community garden is hosting a “love in” in the parking lot across from the White Rock United Methodist Church in Little Forest Hills, says Elizabeth Dry, the founder of the Promise of Peace garden.

“Come together and smile on your neighbor — spread mulch, not hate,” Dry says.

The “love in” is at 10 a.m. on Saturday, in the parking lot at 1450 Oldgate. Dry asks that, if possible, guests bring mulch rakes, gloves and wheelbarrows.

The “love in” is the result of a bit of a feud between some of the neighbors in Little Forest Hills and the garden, which has plans to move from its current location at E. Grand to the parking lot across from WRUMC this fall. A chunk of the surrounding neighbors — 20, last we heard — are against the garden moving to that location. Some of the surrounding neighbors are excited about the garden’s move, as are many others who live further away from the planned location.
