The national fast-casual custom pizza restaurant first announced it was opening a location on Lowest Greenville between Steel City Pops and Remedy in April of 2014. Almost a year later construction began, but it was incredibly slow-going. The restaurant finally started slinging pizzas in November, but not for long.

There’s a sign on the door now that reads: “We regret to inform you that due to circumstances beyond our control the Dallas locations of Project Pie will be closed as of 3/13/2016.”

Jeff Daffin, the area director, says Project Pie has been acquired by another company, which made the decision to close the Dallas locations. There are two location, one on Lowest Greenville and one in Preston Center. After closing over the weekend, the rest of the food was donated to local nonprofits.

Back in November Daffin also mentioned ownership changes. He told us at the time that multiple ownership changes caused most of the holdup on construction because of major conceptual changes. For example, there was a time when Project Pie planned to have a 1957 airstream trailer inside its restaurant, which didn’t ultimately happen.
