425564_10151345555315272_2047145874_nThe sun is up, the air is crisp and thankfully–knock on wood–the apocalypse hasn’t happened. But just because it’s all calm now doesn’t mean it’s not about to get crazy tonight.

For the official apocalypse soundtrack, head to the Granada Theater where Texas band This Will Destroy You performs some “hauntingly dark and blindingly luminous instrumental rock” along with bands True Widow and The Angelus on Friday, Dec. 21. Doors open at 7 p.m. and tickets ($19-$30) are available online.

Then there’s Goodfriend Beer Garden and Burger House’s Hopocalyse party Friday, Dec. 21 from 4 p.m.-2 a.m. where there will be beer and a “hillbilly” band. Goodfriend is at 1154 Peavy.

Now through Sunday, Dec. 23, get the “Drinko de Maya” ($11) at Mariano’s Hacienda, located at 6300 Skillman. The margarita is topped with a pineapple Mayan crown and has a worm at the bottom “for good luck.”

Until then, be glad you’re not seeing this outside your window:
