The famously big band Polyphonic Spree, led by East Dallas dude Tim DeLaughter, will play a free show Sept. 24 at the Palladium Ballroom. A press release indicates that fans can text DALLAS to 68405 for a free ticket, which I did last week. I got a text back saying they would send me a ticket code 24 hours before the concert. It’s so mysterious — like the egg thing on that old 90210 episode …
Anyway, yesterday I heard on The Ticket radio station that the Hardline would be in attendance at said Polyphonic Spree show. Mike Rhyner said in the promo, “the only place to get tickets to this very VIP, very private show is through The Ticket.” When you register at The Ticket’s web site, you are eventually led to the show sponsor’s (Southern Comfort) web site where you are ultimately given the same instructions (text Dallas to 68405 for tickets) — all very confusing. Also confusing, the opening act for Polyphonic Spree is DJ Lord. Fingers crossed that I get in — I’m sure this will be a magical night.
