The Greater East Dallas Chamber of Commerce‘s economic summit is set for Oct. 13. The half-day forum, at the CC Young Retirement Community, will touch on real estate, jobs and economic development. Scheduled speakers include state Sen. Florence Shapiro, a Republican who represents Plano; Sen. John Carona, a Republican whose district includes Dallas north of Interstate 30; Beny McMahon, president of the Texas Association of Realtors; Michael Miles of DART; and Gerry Worrall of the Garland Road Initiative.
