Feeling under the weather, 36-year-old Chanda McCall left work early last Monday, went home and went to sleep. At around 1 p.m., someone rang the doorbell at her East Dallas abode, but she stayed in bed. Then, there was the loud crash. That got her up. Upon entering the front of the house, she confronted two potential burglars who had just kicked in her door. One said, “Oh sh*t, she’s home,” and then they fled the scene.

A 33-year-old Kaufman man was inside a gas station at Skillman and Abrams Thursday, mid morning, paying for his pump, when a thief hopped into his ‘95 Jeep Cherokee and took off. The victim had left his keys in the ignition.

Police responded to Lakewood Landing on Live Oak Thursday at about 2:30 p.m. after someone shattered the bar’s glass door.
