Police have arrested the 16-year old driver who ran over and severely injured two J.L. Long students, a story we reported here

A detective on the case says the boy was charged with two counts of felony injury to a child and is currently at the Henry Wade Justice Center for juveniles awaiting arraignment.

The boy, whose name is not given because of his age, was picked up this morning at Madison High School in Dallas. Police say he transferred to Madison from Woodrow Wilson High School last Friday, the day following the accident. He was uninsured and did not have a driver’s license. "What happens to him now is up to the criminal justice system," the detective says.

Both girls remain in Baylor ICU with serious injuries.
