If you have family coming into town for the holidays and you’re trying to find something festive to do, I know of something even better than driving around the neighborhood looking at Christmas lights (which, by the way, I do every year because we have some neighbors who give Betty Lou Who from “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” a run for her money).
I went to The 12 Days of Christmas at the Dallas Arboretum this weekend and snapped a few photos along the way. You’ll have to excuse the quality. I took them on my cell phone. The Dallas Arboretum has a slideshow available on their website as well.
For those who haven’t gone yet, until Jan. 3 the Dallas Arboretum will stay open after-hours from 6-9 p.m. for its outdoor exhibit consisting of 12 Victorian gazebos, each decked out in holiday splendor to represent a different verse from the song, “12 Days of Christmas.”
If you don’t mind paying $20 for non-members ($12 for adult members) to walk the park, it’s a fun and even romantic way to spend the evening. Of course you’ll want to bundle up, but if you need a little something extra to warm you up, there are stations along the way where you can purchase mulled cider, mulled wine, hot chocolate and coffee.
