I recently started taking my kid to Toddler Time at Skillman Southwestern Library. As a quick aside, the organizer of this class recently had to add another session on Fridays as the demand was so much — is there an East Dallas baby boom going on?

Anyway, I digress. What the heck is up with the parking situation at Skillman Southwestern? Every Friday I go, and every Friday I get hung up in the library’s parking lot for 15 minutes because the parking spaces are so few that if a person leaves the library, those in their cars hit a turn signal (left, right, doesn’t matter) and sit there stubbornly until they figure out if they can get that person’s spot. I am never one of those lucky people, by the way, and end up parking over by Kohl’s and running across Skillman with a toddler/worm in hot ashes scooped up in my arms. Good times, good times …

I know funding is ridiculous for our public library system, so I don’t anticipate added parking anytime before my kid graduates high school. But has it always been like this?
