ParasailingWhen I caught wind that there’s parasailing on Lake Ray Hubbard, I had to make the half hour drive out there to check it out. It was too windy to go parasailing the day I was out there, but I learned some things about the company Parasailing the Harbor, which opened during the summer of last year.

1. Parasailing the Harbor is possibly (although it’d be a little hard to confirm this) the only parasailing company in North Texas. It’s safe to say it’s the only one on Lake Ray Hubbard because the owner Rance Rudy had to jump through some pretty complicated political  hoops to make it happen last year, he says.

2. Parasailing season is from April to October. Do some of those months sound too cold to get in the water? No worries, you actually never have to get in the water to parasail. Although, if you want to be dipped in the lake while you ride, you might want to wait until the sunny months.

3. The area where Rudy docks his boat, Rockwall Harbor, is absolutely darling. Of course Lake Ray Hubbard is already the perfect stay-cation spot for many Dallasites, and this little area is an extra win. There’s tons of restaurants with patios around the harbor and a Hilton right down the way. Rudy’s parasailing set-up is right by the Agave Restaurant & Bar.
