A peek inside
James and Iana Price hoped to open La Bodega’s, a new Latin cuisine concept at 1905 Greenville, the space at the corner of Greenville and Alt, by the end of the year.
Construction is still underway on the space, although James says it’s about 75 percent complete, and there have been some minor hiccups along the way.
One of the most pressing concerns is the patio, which James wants to build in front of the restaurant. Although he is still intent on having it, he has to jump through some hoops to get approval, which is a “work in progress,” he says.
“If it was up to me the patio would be up right now,” he says. “I think it’s going to give it that look that Greenville needs.”
And although the overall concept is the same, he plans to add fresh-squeezed juice to the bar, for which he also needs approval. He hopes to introduce “a lot of new concepts from Europe and Central America” to the drink menu, he says. “I’m really excited about that.”
He says he hopes to open sometime around mid-February, preferably by Valentine’s Day. They’re now hiring. Learn more on La Bodega’s Facebook page.
