In the video, officer Branson Grisham is shown shooting an unidentified 59-year-old man who was not moving and had his hands raised.

The shooting took place shortly after 8:30 p.m. when officers were dispatched following reports of several men drinking and shooting a gun into the air in the 9700 block of Rustown Drive near Oates Drive and Ferguson Road.

Grisham is shown walking toward a man wearing an orange shirt and sitting on the sidewalk. The officer yells at the man and tells him to come here, but the man ran. The officer started running after the man and told him to show his hands.

Then Grisham fired at the man. No one was injured.

Grisham was placed on paid administrative leave, and all the men have been released.

In a press conference Wednesday, Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia said the department had launched an internal investigation and that a grand jury would decide whether Grisham will face criminal charges.

“I’m thankful that no one was injured,” Garcia said. “However, after watching the body cam footage, I have some concerns about the tactics which led to this shooting.”
