The restaurant at 5500 Greenville Ave. will open for lunch Friday and dinner Nov. 13.

Oak’d announced it was moving into the space in February and was expected to open in the spring. But the shutdown of Dallas in March, as well as ongoing construction of the dining room, delayed its debut.

The barbecue joint specializes in Central Texas-style smoked meats like brisket, burnt ends, ribs, chicken and sausage. Try it with one of the housemade sides, which include baked potatoes, apple cider coleslaw, roasted Brussels sprouts and three-cheese mac, under the shade of a large oak tree on the patio.

If that’s not enough to make your mouth water, Oak’d offers signature dishes like the smoked shredded brisket fry tower with cotija cheese, bacon and chipotle aioli.

In-house pastry chef Cessie Mendoza, who has worked at The Sugar Factory and Nobu in Las Vegas, will satisfy your sweet tooth with freshly baked pies, cobbler, cookies and other comfort desserts.

The interior is furnished with long wooden picnic tables and a bar that makes craft cocktails.
