The owner is Traci Saldivar, who most recently worked at the Double Wide. And in an interview with Teresa Gubbins of Pegasus News, she gives some interesting insight into the bar business on Lower Greenville:

Saldivar, 33, a former funeral director, was studying to be a nurse when her father bought the Eight Lounge, thinking it might be a good source of income. But Saldivar says the bar was a drug-laundering front.

“I told my dad, you need to clean house,” she says. “In December, my mom asked if I would look at the books, and I could see that money was being stolen.”

Saldivar’s brother, Judge Saldivar, just graduated from the Culinary Institute of America, and he is creating a menu for The Matador.
