Cleaves is the owner of Artisan Finishes, an award-winning decorative arts company. The bulk of her work is in faux finishes — painted finishes that look like something real, like marble, wood or stone — but decorative art also includes murals, trompe l’oeil, lettering, gilding, plasters and antiquing. We wrote about her in 2014, which you can read about here.

Richard Wincorn is a wood craftsman who designs, builds and sells furniture and other woodwork projects. We included him in a roundup about the White Rock Artists Studio Tour, which you can read here.

Until recently, Cleaves was working from a studio in her garage, but now she’s teaming up with Wincorn and two others — The Heritage School of Classical Ballet and artist Roy Robles of Wood Gem Custom Cabinetry — in a studio in Cayuga Plaza.

If you’d like to check out their new digs, they’ll be hosting an open studio on Feb. 28 from 2-6 p.m. The studio is located in Cayuga Plaza on the east side of White Rock Lake in a small warehouse off Peavy, at 10118-10120 Cayuga. For more information, check out the Facebook page or call Dawn at 214.500.2063.
